Ticino

Waterfall La Froda, Verzasca valley

June, 2024.

In June Ines and I took a two week break to the stunning Ticino canton in Switzerland. We rented a riverside cabin in Verzasca valley, fully immersing ourselves in the natural beauty and calm of this incredible region. Our cabin offered the perfect mix of rustic charm and modern comfort. It was an ideal spot to unwind and escape the usual hustle and bustle of daily life. Apart from Verzasca valley, we also explored the neighboring Bavona valley, which is just as stunning.

I brought my Leica M-A with a Summilux 35mm lens and some Kodak Portra 400 film to capture the valley’s beauty. The way the light played on the cliffs, the deep greens of the vegetation, and the old stone villages made for perfect shots. Every corner of the valley felt like a scene straight out of a postcard. An absolute dream for anyone into photography.

This two week trip was just what we needed. Time to unplug, enjoy nature, and reconnect. Whether you love hiking, photography, or just want a quiet escape, the Verzasca valley is worth a visit. It’s a beautiful, underrated spot in Switzerland that’ll leave you feeling refreshed.
