Montenegro

June, 2026.

I spent a week exploring the mountains of Montenegro with a Leica M-A and a handful of rolls of Kodak Portra 400. My journey took me through the rugged landscapes of Durmitor and across the vast plateau of Sinjajevina, slowing down enough to appreciate the places and people I encountered along the way.

While the landscapes were spectacular, the moments I remember most happened away from the viewpoints. On Sinjajevina, a shepherd on horseback invited me into his summer hut, where he and his wife welcomed me with coffee, a meal, and stories about life on the mountain. It was one of those encounters you can’t plan, and one that stayed with me long after I left.

Shooting film naturally slows the pace of travel. With only a limited number of frames, every photograph becomes a deliberate choice. The images below are a collection of the places, light, and people that made this week in Montenegro unforgettable.
