Summer in Croatia

August, 2026.

I’ve always liked spending my free time in nature, away from the crowds. This summer, I spent my days hiking across Velebit, Gorski Kotar and swimming in the river Zrmanja.

While heatwaves kept hitting Croatia, with temperatures reaching around 40°C, the mountains offered a very different kind of summer. On Velebit, waking up in a tent to 5°C was not uncommon.
